An Immigration Paralegal is a legal professional who assists an immigration attorney by managing client cases, preparing and filing immigration petitions, gathering necessary documentation, researching immigration laws, communicating with clients throughout the process, and ensuring all legal requirements are met to facilitate successful immigration applications, often requiring strong organizational skills and knowledge of complex immigration procedures.
Immigration Paralegal
Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our growing team. The Immigration Paralegal will assist the firm in preparation and filing of various visas, petitions, waivers and motions. This role requires a strong understanding of immigration law and procedure with attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills for document centralization.
Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions and applications, including but not limited to family-based petitions, employment-based petitions, naturalization applications, and asylum applications.
• Gather and organize client documents and information.
• Conduct legal research related to immigration law.
• Communicate with clients regarding case status and requirements.
• Maintain and update case files.
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents.
• Assist with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
• Preferably has a paralegal certification, in lieu of will look at total experience.
• Prior experience as an immigration paralegal is required, visas for employment or investor/education, and family-based immigration experience.
(EB2, OPT, EB1, etc.)
• Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technologically proficient.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a MUST.
