Job Description

We’re looking for a part-time employee to deliver ice cream to our two stores and conduct inventory tasks in our warehouse. Our small business is growing and this position will fill a critical role in our team. While the job will be conducted independently, this position will work closely with the management team and has a big impact on our ability to provide high-quality ice cream to our customers.

If you’re a highly productive person who can work independently, follow set procedures, pay close attention to details and communicate effectively, this may be a great job for you. Ice cream is a seasonal business so you must be comfortable with hours that fluctuate lower in the winter and higher in the summer. Deliveries are made to our stores each day prior to opening, making this a morning job. We would like a minimum of 2 year commitment due the large amount of training involved.

Skills

• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and repetitive lifting and moving of buckets of ice cream - this is a very physical job and you must be able to keep up with the demands safely
• Ability and comfort driving a Ford Transit XL cargo van
• Clean driving record, ability to be approved for coverage on our insurance
• Take pride in completing a job accurately
• Work well independently but are not afraid to ask questions when in need of help
• Attention to detail- delivery orders must be fulfilled carefully and thoroughly and inventory management is a precise task
• Understand the importance of cleanliness, sanitary practices and food safety
• A happy and humble attitude- work well with others and are excited to be part of the team
• Self disciplined- you’ll work independently and must manage your time well
• Trustworthy and responsible- you will be depended upon to do your job completely and timely

Background/Experience

Verifiable experience in the following areas a plus:

• Performing tasks reliably and responsibly
• Following procedures
• Accurate record keeping
• Working well with others
• Good communication skills
• Demonstrated sound judgment
• Following safety procedures

Duties will include

• Using our ordering & inventory software
• Fulfilling orders of ice cream & dry goods to our stores
• Loading between 40 and 90 3-gallon buckets of Ice Cream into cargo van, driving to store and unloading 
• Working in a walk-in freezer while loading/unloading ice cream
• Checking in deliveries to the warehouse and entering them into our inventory system
• Unloading and organizing incoming deliveries to warehouse
• Communication with the owner about inventory and ordering needs
• Working with owners to maintain effective systems and improve those systems that need it

Hours & Pay

• 20-25 hours per week during spring/summer, 10-20 hours per week during fall/winter- flexible days and times
• $20-$25/hour
