Job Description and Duties

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least two (2) days per week and as needed/required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed/required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Special Education (SE) Division Chief ALJ (DCALJ) within the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) is responsible for supervising and providing general direction to the SE case management journey level staff and performs the most difficult and sensitive work in the SE Division.

Conflict of Interest

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.  The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests.  The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.
