Job Description
We are seeking a Sales Assistant with fashion exposure to support our team with order book management and operational tasks. This is a full-time contract extension role, expected to last a few weeks longer than initially planned. The position offers more remote flexibility, but candidates must be based in New York, as we are looking for someone who can potentially transition into a permanent role.
- Temp to permanent, paying $28/hr. on the temporary side and $65k (flex for the right candidate) if permanent.
- Location: Hybrid – 2-3 days/week onsite in NYC (25th St/Park Ave office), more remote flexibility
- Interview Timing: Ideally the 2nd or last week of March (in-person preferred, 20-30 minutes)
Responsibilities:
- Order & Sales Reporting
- Run ATS (order status) reports, check cancel dates, highlight delays, and flag important updates
- Generate selling and shipping reports for the team
- Order Entry & Management
- Process new orders and email orders (training provided)
- Enter and track reorders (workload varies in waves)
- Account & Sales Team Support
- Eventually, grow into direct client communication; Ultimately will become comfortable to check in with accounts periodically, helping manage a large sales territory down the line
- Reach out to the sales team for updates and order tracking
- Product Knowledge (PK) & Presentations
- Assist with pulling orders from the RLM system to create tailored PK presentations
- Format PK decks in PowerPoint (copy/paste from provided PDFs)
- Market & Customer-Facing Opportunities
- If successful, potential for market travel (Chicago, Dallas, NY) to support sales
- Assist with client appointments, note-taking, and check-ins at meetings
- Join visits to retailers for hands-on experience
Required Qualifications:- Experience/ interest: Sales Assistant experience preferred, but internship or related experience in sales, operations, or administrative support is also acceptable
- Background in fashion, jewelry, consumer goods, or related industries is a plus
- Comfort in a client-facing role or interest in transitioning into sales long-term ideal for the right permanent candidate
