RHI Magnesita is hiring Production Supervisors for 2nd and 3rd shift operations. In this role, you’ll lead a unionized production team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. You’ll be a key driver of continuous improvement, safety culture, and operational excellence across the production floor. This is a hands-on leadership role that collaborates closely with raw materials, maintenance, packaging, shipping, and quality teams.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily safety talks and promote a safety-first culture
- Supervise union personnel and ensure shift production goals are met
- Coordinate die changes, inventory, press efficiencies, and quality concerns
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues
- Set up and operate mechanical presses
- Recommend and implement process and equipment improvements
- Monitor workflow and ensure compliance with production schedules
- Coach and develop team members to achieve performance goals
- Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
- Maintain compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Support LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Experience supervising in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of production planning, process improvement, and quality control
- Technical background preferred; refractory experience a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); QAD experience a plus
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, including overtime and weekends as needed
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
