About Us
At Cameron Community Ministries, we’re a small, passionate team dedicated to serving families and individuals in our community. Our work is collaborative, mission-driven, and impactful—and every person on our team helps make it possible.
If you’ve spent your career in finance or accounting, this is a chance to apply your skills in a way that directly improves lives, while enjoying the flexibility and balance of part-time work.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Nonprofit Accounting Specialist to provide guidance, oversight, and hands-on support for our financial operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has led finance teams or managed nonprofit accounting at a senior level, and now wants a part-time role where you can make a lasting impact.
You’ll help ensure the organization remains financially healthy, support donation and grant tracking, and mentor our small team in best practices—without the pressures of a full-time executive role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support daily accounting operations, including AP/AR processes
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
- Process and reconcile donations using Little Green Light
- Provide guidance on grant tracking and reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director and Board Treasurer
- Support annual audit preparation and ensure financial compliance
- Mentor and guide staff in day-to-day bookkeeping and financial processes
- Offer strategic insight and best practices to strengthen financial systems
Who We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in nonprofit finance or accounting
- Background as a Senior accountant, or finance leader preferred
- Skilled in reviewing and improving financial systems and processes
- Comfortable with nonprofit accounting principles, fund restrictions, and grants
- Organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and a mentor at heart
- Excited to contribute expertise to a small team in a meaningful, part-time role
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Flexible, part-time schedule – work when it suits you, no nights or weekends
- Hybrid options – split your time between home and our office
- Part-time PTO – we value your time and wellbeing
- Mission-driven impact – see the difference your work makes in the community every day
- Mentorship opportunities – share your knowledge and guide a small finance team
- Satisfying work without full-time stress – use your experience where it matters most
Reports To
You’ll report to both the Executive Director and the Board Treasurer.
