Job Description

The Electric Mountain Lodge is looking for an Outdoor Recreation guide to lead guided snowmobile tours, snowshoe tours, guided hikes and tracked vehicle tours. We are looking for an experienced guide who not only has the wilderness skills, but the personality to lead and interact with guests. We are hoping to find someone with some experience in our area, but passion for the outdoors and guest service are the most important traits.

Our outdoor recreation guide will work with our lodge manager to coordinate both on and off-site programs and activities. We are surrounded by the Gunnison National Forest, in addition to being located on 10 acres of our own. Our ideal guide will be comfortable in a remote location surrounded by amazing recreation opportunities both for guests and their own down time.

Our guide will:

• Create tour packages, including setting gear lists for guests, coordinating equipment rentals and maintenance and leading tours.
• First Aid and CPR required, Wilderness First Responder preferred
• Avalanche Safety training required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong knowledge of BLM and national forest policies and regulations required, including Leave No Trace
• Strong background in outdoor recreation required
• Knowledge of Colorado wildlife and safety protocols preferred
• Background in snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, tour guiding preferred
• Ability to lead a group safely and personably required
• When not guiding, our guide will be required to assist with other lodge tasks, as needed.

Outdoor enthusiasts can experience RAD (ride all day), overnight, and half-day adventures where you’ll discover fresh tracks and untouched powder. This wild, backcountry setting is so remote, you could ride for days and not see anyone for miles.

Second Brake Bar and Grill, located onsite in the main lodge, offers flavorful mountain fare made fresh by our in-house chef. Enjoy favorites like pizza or burgers in the restaurant, sip cocktails or beers at the bar, or grab a quick snack to bring back to your cabin or out on the mountain.
