Job Title: Monitor Technician (EKG Tech)
Location: Jamaica, NY
Duration: 3+ Months (with potential for extension)
Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM EST (including rotating weekends)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Monitor Technician (EKG Tech) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in an acute care setting and be proficient in interpreting cardiac rhythms using telemetry and EKG equipment.
Responsibilities:Monitor and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms via telemetry and EKG.
Promptly report arrhythmias or significant changes in cardiac activity to clinical staff.
Conduct routine EKGs and ensure accurate documentation of findings.
Maintain and troubleshoot EKG/ECG machines and telemetry monitors.
Keep detailed and timely records of cardiac data and patient status.
Update charts with monitoring data for medical staff review.
Collaborate with nurses and physicians on telemetry-based care decisions.
Contribute to patient care discussions and updates as part of the clinical team.
Identify and report any equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
Support a safe patient environment by managing monitoring tools and surroundings.
Assist with patient transport and non-invasive procedures when necessary.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant work environment.
Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience with emphasis on monitoring vital signs.
Availability for rotating weekend shifts is required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
