• Industrial mechanics and millwrights need to have the following skills and abilities:
• Experience in building and repairing a variety of mechanical systems
• Knowledge of computerized machinery
• Physical strength and stamina
• Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
• Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to work to exacting standards
• Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to get along well with co-workers
• Ability to work at heights or in cramped spaces
• Safety awareness and a responsible work attitude
• Mathematical and mechanical ability
• An analytical approach to problem-solving
• Interest in keeping up-to-date in the field
• Ability to weld using tig and mig
• Ability to fabricate
• 3 or more years industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to troubleshoot. Ability to read, communicate, & understand procedures in English. Read, understand, and follow blue print drawings and schematics. Have experience with PLC's, pneumatic, hydraulic, air moving, and conveying systems. Skilled in mig, tig and stick welding. Exp in plasma & acetylene cutting. Ability to test motors, rebuild/repair centrifugal pumps.
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
