**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a talented and experienced Architectural Interior Designer with a strong background in designing public schools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for educational design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and school administrators. This role involves leading the interior design process for K-12 public schools, ensuring that spaces are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and conducive to learning.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the interior design process for public school projects, from concept development to project completion.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop and implement design solutions that meet the needs of students, teachers, and administrators.
- Create innovative and sustainable interior designs that enhance the learning environment.
- Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, and material palettes to clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and material selections.
- Oversee the selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, finishes, and equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design intent is realized.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technologies related to educational design.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design, with a focus on public school projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and sustainable design practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- NCIDQ certification or equivalent is preferred.
- LEED accreditation is a plus.
