Under general supervision, incumbent performs patrol and investigative Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) duties; administers and enforces laws relating to environmental and health and safety rules and regulations; conduct surveillance and interdiction patrols; makes arrests; conduct scout, tactical entry and high-risk search warrant operations; perform eradication and/or reclamation of cannabis cultivation sites; investigates the importation, buying and selling, transportation and possession of environmental and narcotic related crimes; conduct investigations relating to environmental and health and safety violations, including covert and overt operations; interview witnesses and informants; searching for and take custody of physical evidence relating to cannabis enforcement; seizure of evidence including asset forfeiture; secures and serves search warrants; completes crime reports; testifies in court; coordinates cases with the district attorney, attorney general, and circuit prosecutors; assist other law enforcement agencies tactical and narcotic units with mutual aid missions as needed.
