The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Qualifications:

• BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
• MSN Degree preferred
• Minimum two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience
• Experience in Women's Health, Mother/Baby and/or Labor and Delivery specialty required

Required Certifications and Licenses:

• Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
• BLS certification through American Heart Association
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association
• NRP Certification
• EFM Certification within the past 2 years

Essential Functions:

Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and controls the clinical and administrative activities of the Unit in accordance with the Nursing Department’s Strategic Plan; federal, state regulations and JCAHO standards. Ensure that the unit is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

• Performs rounds to assess physical environment and delivery of quality patient care on the unit
• Assures hospital safety by monitoring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Implements all national patient safety goals within Division
• Collaborates with Nurse Managers and Staffing Office to identify the number and level of personnel required to provide quality patient care; initiates changes in personnel and assignments as indicated according to census and acuity.
• Conducts frequent staff meetings
• Applies policies and procedures consistently for all staff members
• Maintains an environment conducive to productive open communication with staff.
• Collaborates on a regular basis with Nurse Managers
• Establishes clear and specific performance standards and expectations for staff members
