Position Summary:

Joining our Materials Management/Warehouse Department, the Director of Supply Chain and Logistics will evaluate business needs and identify gaps in processes in order to promote efficiency. Responsible for overseeing supply chain operations, ensuring adequate inventory levels across all UHP sites and managing day-to-day logistics and warehouse functions. This role involves strategic planning for inventory management, distribution, and forecasting, as well as leading a team to meet performance and budgetary goals. Additionally, the director ensures operational efficiencies by implementing process improvements, managing warehouse staff, and maintaining the condition of equipment, while adhering to safety, regulatory, and organizational standards. 

 

Key Duties:

  • The planning, coordination, and execution of the warehouse operations, which include receiving materials at the Warehouse, UHP's inventory management process, supporting new and ongoing inventory optimization and planning projects, and UHP's distribution 
  • Supervise the current Warehouse associates and business center associates. 
  • Supervise the delivery of materials and supplies to all facilities upon schedule and/or request. Make emergency deliveries as needed. Ensure accuracy of completed request forms.
  • Plan and direct the inventory and stock control programs operating equipment and supplies. Maintain the inventory of supplies and coordinate the replacement and ordering of such. Manage low stock report forms.
  • Supervise processing of all receiving reports on all shipments received through warehouse.
  • Responsible for delivery of all items received at the warehouse to the proper program, site, or department on a scheduled basis.
  • Maintain records of supplies and materials entering and leaving the warehouse.
  • Assume overall ownership of deliveries and reviews orders received for accuracy and condition of merchandise; perform liaison between departments and service representatives for maintenance and repair work on photocopy machines, vending machines and other office equipment.
  • Maintains computerized stores inventory records, which includes tabulation and recording data on inventory costs and supply levels to ensure an accurate and cost-efficient inventory of supplies.
  • Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order or restock.
  • Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse.
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
  • Schedules pickup, delivery, and distribution of supplies, medication, equipment, etc.
  • Forecasts peak delivery periods and issues appropriate work assignments.
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers and transport companies.
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees.
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc.)
  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
  • Provides shipping instructions and routing information; confirms and coordinates delivery times and locations.
  • Establishes and maintains warehouse safety and security programs and training activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Computer Science, or other related discipline. 
  • 10 years of experience in supply chain, warehouse management, materials management, information processing, program management, systems development, or related activities required.
  • Background in healthcare is a huge plus.
  • 5-7 years directly managing employees.
  • 5 years of warehouse experience.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • ERP implementation and maintenance 
  • Microsoft Office and Related Inventory and Financial Software literacy. 
  • Excellent communicator and motivator.

Starting Compensation: Minimum: $100,000 per annum; Maximum: $125,000 per annum.
