Cost Accountant 

Reports to:   Controller                 Department: Administration

Job Summary:
This role is responsible for managing all cost accounting activities, supporting financial reporting, overseeing inventory and receivables reconciliations, and assisting with other financial processes while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. 

Essential Functions:
1)    Control key accounts in the receivable collection process
2)    Work with customer service & sales departments to reconcile and settle invoices in non-compliance statuses
3)    Assist in evaluating the impact of changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing processes on overall costs
4)    Help conduct physical inventories and monitor cycle count program
5)    Work with purchasing team to report pricing changes pro-actively
6)    Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
7)    Prepare ad hoc management financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
8)    Assist with annual audits 
9)    Suggest improvements to systems and procedures and initiate Changes
10)    Maintain financial security by following and developing internal controls, where necessary
11)    Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
1)    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
2)    Two years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
3)    Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
4)    Advanced Microsoft computer skills. 
5)    Knowledge of Access & SQL a plus
6)    Knowledge and understanding of financial accounting statements
7)    Strong aptitude for numbers 
8)    Strong analytical skills
9)    Experience with general ledger functions 
10)    Accuracy and attention to detail
11)    Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, as a team member.
12)    Strong oral & written communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
