- Worksite Location: Grand Forks or Fargo, ND | Hybrid
- Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 for experienced Cost Accountant
- $65-75k for junior level accountant
What you’ll do as the Cost Accountant : - Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings
- Prepare and complete internal cost audits
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
- Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results
- Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost
- Analyze production costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Make estimates of new and proposed product costs
- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program
What you’ll bring to the Cost Accountant role : - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years relevant accounting experience (production, manufacturing, railroad preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, Ramp and ADP)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
