The Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full Time, Limited Duration Compliance Specialist 2 position expected to end on or before 06/31/2025. The Limited Duration appointment may be extended beyond this date or may end prior to this date.

Summary of Job Duties:
In this position, you will develop and maintain program documents and audit functions to ensure user compliance in support of the overall Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Audit & Quality Control Programs, specifically in the areas of non-criminal justice users and Uniform Crime Reporting agencies. You will coordinate with other audit and training staff and management, monitor and review the program’s effect. As a critical member of the CJIS team, you will ensure compliance, training, and outreach to the user community in support of CJIS’ mission. You will investigate complaints of system misuse or other alleged violations from system users or private citizens, makes findings of fact, and takes or recommends corrective action. You will represent the CJIS Division at various meetings and user events.
Minimum Qualifications/Eligibility Requirements:
Four years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level.
Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in evaluating documents, procedures, reports, systems, or conditions to decide compliance with State and Federal program requirements.
Demonstrated ability to apply laws, rules, agency policies to help others solve compliance issues.
Ability to identify training needs to gain compliance or improve program operations.
Experience with regular contact by telephone, in person, letters and electronic mail with staff members, clients, and the public, to gather and share information, clarify policy, and determine compliance.
Ability to evaluate information to determine cause of error.
