Job Purpose

The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in protecting, maintaining, and enhancing the value of commercial real estate properties to maximize financial returns for the owner. This role focuses on tenant relations, customer service, and assisting with the daily operations to ensure a well-managed and high-performing property.

Responsibilities

  • Tenant & Vendor Relations: Assist in daily tenant management, providing customer service and maintaining positive relationships with tenants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Property Operations & Maintenance: Support the oversight of maintenance, safety, security, landscaping, snow removal, and vendor services to ensure efficient property operations.
  • Financial & Lease Administration: Assist in accounts receivable, rent collection, lease compliance, vendor invoicing, and budget preparation.
  • Property Inspections & Compliance: Conduct periodic property inspections to identify issues, maintain safe conditions, and ensure compliance with lease agreements and vendor contracts.
  • Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate property records, including lease files, tenant and vendor contacts, utility shut-offs, and key/access card management, while preparing reports for the Property Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least one year of experience in a similar role within Commercial Property Management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred, or three to five years of related experience without a degree.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical trades, building systems, and related equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively engage with tenants, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth property operations.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and support financial and lease administration.
